Student Privacy

Content Design & Strategy, 2017 and 2022

Protecting student privacy is of paramount concern in schools, but it’s difficult to turn stuffy policy into practical tips. That was my task with this project. I worked closely with the privacy evaluations team at Common Sense to develop and then translate a set of tips and best practices for teachers when using social media in and around the classroom. To make sure this work received the widest possible audience, these tips were designed to be easily reformatted for different mediums. The result was a campaign anchored by an infographic but supported by an article, video, and suite of social images. We also syndicated the content on Edutopia, a popular publisher that reaches millions of teachers.

My team updated the article and infographic in 2022. The updated version is now being distributed through Apple education.
